Alexander Ciarroni, Chief Executive Officer of IB Solved, has been announced as a Sydney Finalist in the prestigious 2025 Australian Young Entrepreneur Awards, recognising his outstanding leadership, growth and innovation in the education sector.
The Young Entrepreneur Awards honour Australia’s most dynamic founders under 40, celebrating those who are reshaping industries and delivering meaningful impact. Alexander was selected from a competitive field of nominees for his role in transforming IB Solved from a local Sydney tutoring partnership into Australia’s leading International Baccalaureate (IB) education provider.
“I’m honoured to be recognised as a Sydney Finalist for the Young Entrepreneur Awards. IB Solved began with a simple belief that no IB student should feel they are alone on their IB journey. Seeing that belief now translate into real impact across Australia is what continues to drive me each day” said CEO Alexander Ciarroni.
IB Solved was founded to address the lack of specialised support and resources available to Year 11 and 12 students completing the IB Diploma, an internationally recognised qualification offered as an alternative to local high-school certifications which enables entry into top global universities. Originally formed in 2016 by two IB graduates, IB Solved was promptly acquired by Chief Executive Officer, Alexander Ciarroni, alongside his former business partner in 2018. A former IB student himself, Alexander recognised both the power and pressure of the IB program. Determined to improve the experience for other IB students and recognising the true size of the IB resourcing gap, he transformed IB Solved from a local Sydney-based tutoring service into a nationwide education platform.
In the post-COVID world of online learning and with the IB program gaining traction in Australian schools, Alexander led the development of a fully digital education model to expand their reach across the country. Today, IB Solved provides students with a holistic ecosystem of IB-specific support and resources designed to help them achieve IB success, while also guiding the development of high achieving IB graduates into effective educators for the next generation.
“Entrepreneurship is more than launching a business – it is about purpose, resilience and empowerment. IB Solved exists to bridge gaps, helping IB students fulfil their potential and propelling them into their dream university. Being named a finalist isn’t just validation of what we have built, it’s motivation to push further by continuing to innovate, improve our learning experience and expand our community reach to better support our IB families!”
Today, IB Solved is Australia’s leading IB-specialised education provider, supporting students from IB schools nationwide and expanding into the Asia-Pacific, with a team of over 110 IB experts and a growing ecosystem of digital tools and resources. Since 2016, IB Solved has delivered over 15,000 lessons and supported over 1,500 students through online tutoring, premium digital resources, structured study courses and assessment review services, catering to the unique needs and goals of IB students.
